In a full calf binding, with the contemporary owner's name 'Rev. S. Dashwood' in gilt to the front board.With 'an entirely new set of maps', this edition features a folding colour map frontispiece, and eight further folding maps. Collated, complete. Mogg's publications were so widely used in the nineteenth century that they appeared in works of fiction including Robert Smith Surtees' 'Mr. Sponge's Sporting Tour', and Shirley Brooks' 'The Naggletons'. CONDITION Rebacked, in a full calf binding, with original boards restored, endpapers renewed and back strip laid down. Wide yapp edge covers fore edge of text block, with contemporary owner's name in gilt to front board. Discolouration to rear board tail and back strip tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with areas of light spotting, most apparent to plates.
