Description: Beautifully made 1850s/60s civil war era guitar. An amazing example of a mid-19th century produced instrument. Has a beautiful patina and plays like a dream. Has had one crack professionally cleated. There is also writing on the inside top spruce panel that indicates that it was worked on in the 1950s. I did not want to mess with the patina as it has soooo much character so it’s been cleaned and oiled but otherwise un-touched body/patina wise. The guitar has a compensated neck/bridge and plays beautiful with no issues. Wonderful action with nylagut strings with low tension. Have not tried any other strings as I personally like the balance and punch that these have with this small bodied guitar. It’s a work of art that deserves to get a bit more play time than I can currently give it. Given that it is a vintage instrument it is sold as is, so please feel free to reach out with any additional questions you might have.
