Description: This Tiemann Dissection Kit was manufactured by George Tiemann & Co. before the Civil War at 163 Chatham St in New York City. It is a set of surgical tools used for post mortem dissections. All implements are original to this kit except for the scissors and scalpel, which are modern but fairly match the original ones. Saw and Amputation knife have handles that attach with threaded rod. This set was used by McKinley Belcher during filming of Mercy Street for PBS during its second and final season in episode .
