Description: Rare Comstock mining revenue check signed by James G. Fair, one of the four "Bonanza King" mining millionaires, and also a US Senator for Nevada. This 1874 check is issued to J. Williams. It has imprinted revenue RN-C21b. Spindle cancel, some stains. The Occidental Mill was associated with the Occidental Mine, located 1.25 miles east of Gold Hill. The mill was built in 1870, 1/4 mile south of the Occidental Shaft. In 1871-72, it had 20 stamps and a 50-ton-a-day capacity. (Ref: Ansari) Please see my other listings for similar items.
