Description: Original 1891-1892 San Antonio, Texas sepia cabinet card photo of a of a dandy, sporting man or gambler (or all three) with long curly hair down his back, cowboy hat, boots, cane and a gold watch chain with what looks to be a large gold nugget attached. Found in McKaughan family photo album in San Antonio. Great Old West image taken by Paris & Rothwell at their 11 & 13 W. Commerce Street location in San Antonio. They were at this address between 1891 and 1892 before moving to 107 W. Commerce. While this dude bears a passing resemblance to Ft. Worth, Texas, gunman and Deputy Sheriff Timothy “Longhair Jim” Courtright, he was killed in Ft. Worth by gambler and gunman Luke Short in February 1887. Very good, nice clean crisp image.
