"Olympic" where he and his wife posed specially for this photograph. The Earl is a distinguished soldier who has been through some severe encounters. As Viscount Fincastle, he was aide to the Viceroy of India. For two years he had a distinguished military career, gaining the Victoria Cross, the most coveted medal in the British Army, in the Afghanistan frontier war in 1897. The Earl and Countess are here for a months tour of the country, including the West. Photo measures 6.5 x 8.5 inches. Photo Is dated 1914.
