1920s-1930s TIN TOY MACHINE GUN W/ DRUM MAGAZINE, BARREL PLUGGED W/METAL AS MADE

Description: In this listing we are offering an interesting child's tin toy machine gun with a drum magazine. NOTE: THIS TOY IS AS ISSUED WITH A PERMANENT METAL PLUG IN THE BARREL. The circular metal plug (as issued) is connected to a long wooden support rod which runs inside the length of the barrel. The barrel shows some paint wear & has some bends. In the area of the bends the wooden rod inside of the barrel is broken. But, the rod is in a stable position & is not moving around. THIS TOY WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE FIRED OR TO PROPEL ANYTHING. The toy is constructed with a wooden stock. When turned a wood knobbed turn handle rotates a metal cog wheel which makes a loud clicking sound. Even the original cloth carrying strap is still present. The major majority of the original black paint is still present on the barrel. The original clear varnish finish, which shows only a tiny bit of wear, is still present on the stock. The original metal clicking mechanism works superbly & creates a loud sound as issued. There are no touch-ups & no repairs & the toy is complete & all original. This toy came to us recently out of a Pennsylvania estate. We believe the toy to have been made in the U.S. But, we have not been able to locate any toy company maker's marking on the piece. This toy is more simplistic than toy examples we have seen which date from the 1940's-1950's. So, we are estimating the vintage of the toy we are offering in this listing to be circa 1920's-1930's or so. This toy is 21 1/2 inches long & has a weight of 9.9 ounces.
