1932 ALICE'S ADVENTURES UNDER GROUND facsimile ms

Description: Alice's Adventures Under Ground, written and illustrated by Lewis Carroll. Published by The Macmillan Company. Copyright and print date 1932. "The original plates from Richard Clay and Sons, used in an edition printed by Macmillan and Co., London in 1876 and again in 1886. Bought from Macmillan & Company, Limited, by The Macmillan Company, New York, to reprint in honor of the Lewis Carroll centenary, 1932." Burgundy cloth boards are clean and unworn. Lettering in gilt on spine is bright, though the leading leg of the "A" is slightly faded. Top corners have gentle bumps but are not worn. Hinges are intact and binding is tight. There is a penned gift inscription on the ffep with the year rubbed out, causing an abrasion that doesn't penetrate the paper. The interior of the book is probably lightly toned, but if so, it is uniform. Pages are generally clean, but there are a few with minor finger smudges. Page 24 has two narrow, vertical smudges about 2" long. Text is a facsimile of Carroll's handwriting, and the 37 illustrations were also done by Carroll. Overall Condition is Very Good or better I can no longer ship internationally All my books are as described.
