Description: 1933 WORLDS FAIR CENTURY OF PROGRESS HAEGER POTTERY MUG DARK BROWN ART DECO NUDE This pottery mug was part of our huge Worlds Fair and Exposition Collection. We mostly collected 1933/34 and 1939/40 items but also have many pieces from much earlier to much later Fairs. We once offered the entire collection as a buy it now on eBay with no takers and have since been piecing it out. My husband, seller named Jal12147 and I will be listing pieces till it’s gone. This is a dark brown Haeger pottery souvenir mug made at the pottery and ceramic exposition during the fair and sold there. This one is a glossy dark brown, similar to the standard glazed pottery made during that time. The mug reads “World’s Fair 1933 Chicago” and “Century of Progress (c)” on the back. The handle is a nude flying sprite figure. This pottery was made in a hurry and often has irregularities and glaze chips. This one was made with a brown-toned underglaze. The mug is 6-1/2” tall, 3” at the mouth and 3-1/2” across the base. There are glaze chips on the figures’ chin, underarm and breast., and a small chip on her leg. There are also some glaze chips on the edge of the base and the bottom. It’s still clean and shiny and 91 years old! There are no cracks. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more pictures. We are always happy to combine shipping if you buy more than one item. I always ship with USPS Priority shipping. It’s just a little more than Ground Advantage, but it the safest, most secure and most trackable method of shipping. I receive a discount on shipping through eBay and always pass the savings on to my buyers. Thank you for looking!
