Frankfurter, shown here with his wife in their home at Cambridge, Massachusetts, came from Vienna when a boy of 12. He could speak no English. A few years later he took highest honors when graduating from Harvard, and now is a professor on the faculty of the Harvard law school. "Don't call me judge yet," he said when reporters called to talk to him following his nomination to his new eminence. There is no doubt, however, that the senate will confirm him.
