Description: Camillus 1946-1948 Engineer or Utility Knife. This is similar to the Scout pattern, but does not have an awl but a secondary pen knife instead. The presence of a two-piece can opener and three line Camillus tang stamp dates this to 1946-1948 along with the short underline Camillus tang stamp. This knife features red bone scales and has green corrosion remaining on the scale pins. This is an expert re-scale. The center pin is rounded on each side. This knife features a short bail which is not bent or deformed. Both pen and main spear point blade are full and show minimal use or light sharpening, but the factory edge can be seen. The screw driver and bottle opener combination tool appears unused and is the long style. All blades and tools open and close or have a crisp and loud snap as new. No wobble is present. There is a slight gap between the center brass liner and springs, which is common due to user pressure on the scale liners. This in no way affects the use or presentation. All tools and blades are high carbon steel and are in excellent condition. This is an exceptional example of an early post-war Camillus utility knife. You will not be disappointed. This knife has been cleaned, oiled, and lightly polished. I have not sharpened it. Shipping is via USPS Ground Advantage Mail service. Pricing is $7.00, which is a few cents above the in-person post office price. It comes insured and arrives to you in five-seven days. I carefully package all of my items, and will provide a picture of the box before it ships.
