Description: Hello and thanks for looking, up for sale is a 1973 collectible called "America's First Medals" which was issued by the United States Mint. It contains 11 antique-finished pewter medals, 10 of which represent military victories and the leaders of the American Revolution against the British in our fight for Independence. The medals were restruck in observance of America's Bicentennial which was celebrated in 1976. They are made of Pewter and measure 1-1/2" in diameter come in a two-way display album. The medal commemorates heroes such as: Captain John Paul Jones, George Washington, General Nathan Greene, General Anthony Wayne, General Horatio Gates and others. It also comes with a 44-page pamphlet from the Smithsonian which details each of the 10 medals and a recount of the battle and its leaders. This nearly 50-year old collectible has never been displayed and has been stored in the original outside box. The outside box does have some shelf wear but the display album and coins remain in mint condition. Please view the actual photos as they are a major part of the overall description.
