2 Canadian Club Whiskey Lowball Glasses Tumblers OLEG CASSINI Gold Squares 1973

Description: I had to really search for evidence of manufacturing year for these beauties. I saw lots of listing saying they were mid-century or art deco. The style looks art deco KIND OF but also felt more 1970's or 1980's to me. I never assign an origin story or date to an item until I see one in a box or in a catalog. Luckily I was able to find a listing on Worthpoint showing these swanky lovelies in a box of 1973 Canadian Club whiskey. Sooo..NOT MCM. But I love the early 1970's style as well though I wish it had a cool name like MCM or Art Deco (known as Jazz Moderne at the time.) ANYWAY, these lowball tumblers measure 4 1/4" tall by 3 1/4" in diameter at the top. Minor signs of use but nothing eye catching or blatant. Sometimes on these types of barware items, you can see wear on the gold where fingers had held the glass but I don't see anything like that on these. No gold rim, which is great because that is what shows wear the fastest. I carefully examined photos of the new ones in the box on Worthpoint to verify there never was a gold rim. These would look great with a Baltimore, though possibly the gold accents would show up better with a gin and tonic. Not sure--certainly a puzzle to be worked on by some lucky person!
