The June Bug was the aeroplane in which Glenn Curtiss won the Scientific American Trophy for flying a kilometer in a straight line (which was no easy feat at the time).I am not sure of the exact date of the photo, but obviously it is modern. I am not sure when the replica of the June Bug was built or if there is more than one replica outside of the Curtiss museum.
