Description: Up for sale is an interesting group photo of United States Air Force (USAF) officers. This photo comes from the estate of a retired physician near New Orleans, Louisiana. (Name provided on request.) According to his obituary, he had served as a Flight Surgeon in the USAF from 1955 to 1956. The photo was taken by Scott Photographic Services; 456 So. McDonough St; Montgomery 5, Ala. While the exact location of the photo is not known, given that the photographer was from Montgomery, Alabama, it seems likely that this photo was taken at Maxwell AFB, which is located in that city. I found this photo in a simple frame. (I removed the photo from the frame, which is not included in the auction.) On the back of the frame was a piece of cardboard with the following notation: "I am in 4th row from bottom, 4th man from the right (facing the photograph). Year 1955, probably August." This piece of cardboard will be included along with the photo. I count over 60 officers in this photo. All are male. I can't say for sure but it's possible that this was the entire group of physicians (i.e. flight surgeons and other medical staff) who were then assigned to Maxwell AFB. I'm no expert in military uniforms but these look to be khakis. The shirts are long sleeved, which suggests that they may have been some predecessor of the "1505s", the khaki uniform that was utilized from the 1950s until the late 1970s.
