I've only used it once but it made the process faster and easier. I was surprised how fast it heated the wort with it being 120 volt. The only complaint I have is some of the stainless steel edges are a little sharp so you need to be careful handling the grain basket. While there are better all-in-one brew systems available with fancier features (& higher price tags), this is a solid choice for anyone just getting started on the homebrew journey. I brewed my second beer with it today & I consider myself a novice. Some of the metal edges are a little rough & can cut flesh, so take care handling them. It only came with one gasket for the spigot that goes through the wall of the vessel & it was leaking when I first tested it. A second gasket would be nice, so you have one on each side of the metal "wall." I improvised with some plumber's tape & an extra gasket I found lying around. You'll also need tubing to connect the chiller & to connect to the spigot to transfer your wort to a fermenter, but all in all, it's a good piece of equipment. It arrived quickly, was undamaged, and had all the parts. I did my first brew on it, and was very impressed at how clear the wort came out. It is fermenting now. The auto is easy enough to use, and alerts you for mash times, boil time, and hop additions. It makes for easy brewing even if you are half "in the bag". Used a Grainfather system several times and the Electric Brewing System, 9.2 Gal/35 L Brewing Pot is so easy to use that it puts all other whole grain systems to shame at its price point. Seems sturdy and of high quality. Clean up was easy and the built-in pump was a real plus in pulling the sugars out of the grain. Keypad was easy to figure out making the system fun to use. Brewed one 5 gal lemon summer shanty and it’s in the fermenter for one week. Hope the unit keeps working as well for future batches. Can’t wait to slide the newest shanty onto my fifth beer faucet. It is easy to hit your volumes and temperatures very precisely. My only quibbles are a few pieces have sharp edges, a small nut was missing, and the controller is a bit difficult to program. The company made the missing part right. Deburring edges and a better instruction manual would improve it. Overall I am happy with my purchase and it is fun to use. The recirculating function makes crystal clear wort and there is virtually no hop residue in my fermenter. The hop spider is effective!
