Very early on, she came into contact with renowned artists such as Henri Goetz and Christine Boumeester, whose student she became in 1941 thanks to her brother Pierre Barbaud, a composer of contemporary music known as "algorythmic". She attended classes at the Ecole des Beaux Arts where she became friends with Françoise Gilot (Picasso's future wife) and the painter Jean Souverbie, who considered them his best students. At the end of the war she married Albert CLAASS, a doctor and founder of occupational medicine in the European Union, and continued her artistic studies in Saarbrücken with Boris Kleint, a former student at the Bauhaus. In contact with intellectual and artistic circles, she then frequented Ionesco, André Frédérique Alfred Manessier, Pierre Soulages, Hans Hartung. The director Sylvain Dhomme entrusted him with the creation of monumental sculptures in homage to the poet Rabindranath Tagore at UNESCO.
