ACOUSTIC RESEARCH AR-3a NEW SET CROSSOVER CAPACITORS

Description: This is a complete set of new crossover capacitors for one Acoustic Research AR-3a speaker. These replace the old original capacitors which may have failed or likely shifted in value over the years. These are of superior quality to the originals. They have outstanding frequency response, high current capability and do not deteriorate with age like many of the old style electrolytic capacitors of years ago. These will last you a lifetime. A schematic diagram will be included to assist with the change out. You will simply replace the old capacitors with the new ones, one at a time. Cut the old leads close to the capacitors and wire nut the new ones to the leads. As you will be removing the woofer, you should purchase one package of cabinet sealer, in Dept. OTHER SPEAKER SERVICE PARTS, for each woofer. Don't short change your job by trying to reuse the old dry sealer.From a recent purchase:Hello, Larry; I installed the capacitors you sent in my AR-3A, and the speaker now sounds terrific. Thanks for talking to me a couple of weeks ago. Sure enough, as you suspected, the original caps were way out of tolerance; all had at least doubled in value. Thanks also for the advice about how to check if the mid-range driver was good; fortunately, it was. One of these days I'll tear into my other AR-3A and check to see whether those caps have drifted off value. If so, I'll order another set of caps and more cabinet sealer from you.
