Aechmea Orlandiana Ensign is an albo-marginated cultivar of Orlandiana and a carnival of color and texture in its foliage. In a vase-shaped rosette, the strappy dark green leaves are beautifully marginated with a creamy white color which will blush pink when grown in bright filtered light. There are bright magenta blotches and speckles all over the leaves and the undersides have beautiful magenta bars. The bloom is a red flower spike with yellow blossoms. A species originally collected in Brazil, many crosses have been made using this gorgeous Orlandiana. The height can range form 14 to 18 inches high. It is interesting that this plant's margins seem to darken when it is in bloom...as in photo #1. This auction is for a single plant, a pup smaller than the plants shown in the photos, but similar to the last photo. Plants will grow to to around size seen in the photos. Plants will be shipped bare root or no root, without soil. Yes I do discount for combined shipping!
