Description: Here is a fantastic pedestal , Made by the famous Paine & co in Boston Massachusetts, circa 1870- 1880 , Paine was making furniture there from 1835-1935 known for there renowned quality , this piece is no exception , the majority of these where Ebonized this being walnut / mahogany makes this much harder to find this one is original surface never been touched finish wise just the way you wanna find them , maybe some minor loss or wear, certainly could be cleaned and detailed better, I noticed three nails and different points on wings , probably where bumped or came loose at one point and that was the fix, not real noticeable . The quality of this is fantastic very heavy one of a kind piece , again original surface !
