Description: Antique 1880 Era Oil Painting Folk Art Winter Landscape Painted on Frost & Adams Academy Board Boston Mass. The original frame measures 21 1/2" x 27 1/2" and the artist board is 18 1/2" x 24 1/2". The shipping indicated is for the Academy Board canvas lined board artwork only, I do not plan to mail the frame as it is too fragile and chipping. I did not find an artist signature, it certainly is a genuine antique 1880-1900 era. The artwork is in good condition with no issues, the frame has edge chipping of the gilt gesso decoration but I plan to mail the painting only and not the frame which is included only for local pickup. Please see the detailed photos. Again please note, the frame is not being shipped at the price shown, only the artwork. Frost & Adams (est.1869) was an artists' supply firm in Boston, Massachusetts, located in Cornhill, on the current site of Boston City Hall and City Hall Plaza. It began in 1869 when artist Francis Seth Frost and retailer E.H. Adams bought the business of Matthew J. Whipple. By the 1880s Frost & Adams were "the chief dealers in artists' materials in New England."Some art world luminaries shopped at Frost & Adams. It was "the depot of supplies for Hunt, Inness, Neal, Brown, Enneking, Norton, Vinton, Picknell, Gaugengigl, Shapleigh, ... H.H. Richardson, Cabot & Chandler, Van Brunt & Howe, Peabody & Stearns."
