Antique 18th-19th Century French Silk and Gold Metallic Brocade ZZ287

Description: Gorgeous antique silk from France which came from the estate of a direct Roosevelt descendent. She travelled widely and collected some very interesting and beautiful textiles along the way. Here is a very old silk brocade with a beautiful gold metallic design . You can see in the photos that it has three seams. It has also been pieced in places so must have been salvaged from a larger piece. It has a gold metallic ribbon border and it is backed in gold silk twill. A piece for the collector for either safe keeping or framing. The condition is antique. Still beautiful with surprisingly strong colors though the metallic threads have worn and faded a bit and there are areas of darkening. There is one spot as pictured in the last photo. There are a few spots on the back which do not go through to the front. 32" wide x 43" long
