Description: 1800s Victorian era Antique Walnut Document Writing LAP DESK Portable Travel Campaign Box- has some provence with a note that is attached. Could be Shaker or Amish -as there is an Atlantic in Pennsylvania- it is a gorgeous oldie. Possibly Shaker measures 14" side to side x 10.75" front to back. measures 6 1/8" high at the back & almost 4.5" high at the front as it is a slanted lap box.The walnut is beautiful. the key is no longer with the box. the box doesn't close flush anymore & there is a split on the bottom (see closeup pictures)The box hinges work well & it it a gorgeous Antique.the cards for provenence that came with it will come along with the box. it is quite amazing Authentic Turn of the century piece!Smoke free home. pictures below.
