Antique American Folk Art WHIRLIGIG -Old Windmill Piece -Found in Rural Iowa!

This handmade piece was found in rural Clayton County, Iowa. This fine wind folk art piece was handmade. The wind blades were made from galvanized steel. The man operating the pump was made with wood from an old crate--lettering can still be seen under the paint. The wood base has rough-sawn edges. The presence of a Zerk fitting on the top of this whirligig suggests that this folk art piece was made in the 1930's. (The Zerk grease fitting first came to the market in 1929). Note the slotted screws, and square-head and hex-head bolts of various sizes. Note too the brush strokes and drips/runs in the paint. This American Folk Art whirligig measures 20 1/4" long, 13 3/4" high, and 11 3/8" at its widest. Condition: This handmade antique American folk art whirligig functions perfectly, and is in beautiful condition. The blades turn effortlessly, and the man operating the pump moves smoothly.
