Description: This style of chair is known as "official's hat chair" because the projections over the rear stiles resemble the knobs on the black hats once worn by high-ranking administrators in Ming Dynasty. This chair is high back and handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure. Intricate carvings of traditional Chinese design motif decorate the back splat of the chair. The carvings are highlighted with gold touch up paint. Both arms and back splats of the chair are crafted with deep curves.
