Description: An Edwardian classic, iconic 7 stone fiery opal and rose cut diamond 18 carat yellow gold ring is our next find for you. This beauty dates to the early Edwardian era or possibly late Victorian. There are three beautiful opals, the central one measures 4.5mm x 4mm in size and the outer two each measure 4mm x 3mm. The Opals are well matched and have a strong fire including some flashes of green, blue, yellow and red. Set between the opals are four old cut Diamonds that measure 2mm each, Graded VS clarity and G colour so nice stones. The ring weighs a substantial 3 grams and the band is still nice and thick. The condition of the opals is very good with no cracks or chips, and just minor surface rubbing seen with a x10 eye glass typical of wear in a ring this age. The setting is typical of the Edwardian era with an open gallery, claw and collet setting and beautifully engraved shoulder detail. This is a delightful ring and will not disappoint the buyer. The gold has a rich hue to it and given its age, the ring is in good antique condition with sound claws holding the stones in place. The ring band has a stamp of 18ct and has been confirmed as 18 carat gold. The ring measures a UK size O, USA 7.5, EU 55 and can be sized to fit if necessary by your local jeweller.
