Description: This is a lovely and rare handmade chain, known also as kostek, made and worn in the late XIX or the beginning of the XX century. The kostek is made of silver. It is kept in a very good condition, without damages of any kind. This kind of chains, kostek, were used as a jewelry, decorations at the women's ethic costumes (in some occasions by men as well but they were attaching them to a pocket watch or the gun) and presenting the family wealth status. This exact kostek was typical for the women costumes of the upper Bitola villages and Lerinsko Pole (todays Florina)region.The length of the chain is 48 cm or 18.9 inches. The weight of the chain is 63 grams.
