Description: - This very fine antique cast iron lantern is a piece of ornamental iron art from long ago. The sort of architectural fixture that would have graced a very expensive front lawn – the cast iron lantern is 10” high, 10 ¼ across the attractively shaped top and tapering to an attractive wedge form about 6” at the base, The address 504 is die-cut on 2 of the panels, ALL GLASS is present – there are 28 panes – the hanging fixture and chain are intact. The old worn paint finish on this is either wonderful to some while others would repaint it - depending on a new owners needs. It should be rewired of course – I am guessing this is somewhere between 1890 and 1940 - it weighs 8 pounds or so. After I got home with the lantern, I really began to appreciate it fully – I doubt that you could buy an outside lantern of this impressive and extraordinary quality today for any price, Out of an estate in Adams County, Penna - buyer pays 29.95 safe bubble shipping and tracking EAST of the Mississippi - ***NOTE*** shipping is 39.95 WEST of the Mississippi
