Description: Offered is this vintage Asian lucky Cricket Cage. The material is wood with light tone coloring of beautifully woven bamboo. The top of the fitted lid is a woven starburst design with small hook & tassel. Very delicate & beautifully made. 5" high, almost 4" across the top. I have never seen one like it. Chinese emperors thought that the song of the cricket was beautiful & that they fought fiercely. So to honor the cricket & themselves, the cages were created for the keeping of crickets & made of the finest materials & decorated by artists. My children have recently asks me to liquidate some of my belongings so they don't have to deal with it when I'm gone. So even though I love them they have to go.
