Description: A superb antique Japanese EDO PERIOD KOZUKA handle, which fitted in a 'pocket' in a Samurai sword scabbard. This is a very fine example in iron ( more difficult to work than soft metals ) !.............Classic waves with the spray........and gold gilt wheels. There could be several interpretations of this...........I think the wheel of life, in the sea of turbulence.................The tiny inlaid dots are beautiful, and the whole shape and curved contours are master work. I particularly like the 'waisted' segments, almost denoting bamboo !!!.........A lot of thought and energy. ............The old patina on the iron is particular fine !!!............measures 95mm long, approx 13mm wide, and 4.5mm thick max........A quiet masterpiece !!!...................( Note Ebay does not permit me as a UK to sell the kozuka blades that fit this handle on Ebay...........all this pc nonsense ! )............... NOTE.......NEVER NEVER POLISH BRIGHT......It is meant to be this wonderful colour !!!!!
