Description: Pakistani minerals are overlooked by most, and these stunningly yellow Brucites from there are no exceptions. The Pakistani Brucites were first reported at the Munich show around 2015 and were more widely available by 2017 [1]. Brucite got its name in honor of Archibald Bruce, a physician, and editor of the American Mineralogical Journal, who first described Brucite in 1824. From previous finds, colors commonly ranged from white, grayish, cream-beige, pale greenish-bluish, or even sometimes brownish-red to deep brown colors in manganoan-bearing varieties. Mineral collectors quickly fell head over heels for this lively yellow color from the new Pakistani find, and rightfully so. The Pakistani Brucite Specimens range in colors from a mute lemon yellow to a glowing lemon-head yellow, with the latter being more scarce. The Crystals are typically translucent, but some are more transparent and come ALIVE when light passes through. The specimens display different degrees of luster, ranging from a silky pearl luster to a waxy sheen. [1] Moore, Thomas P. (2017, April 14th) What's New in the Mineral World? 46.
