Description: ~*~Hello and thank you for looking ~*~ *~ *~ A rare and early embroidery ~ so wonderfully 18th century ~ Highly decorative and a talking point for sure~ This wonderful embroidery dates from the early 18th century. It's one of 4 that I found together ( to see the others, simply search my store for the word naive and they will appear! ( there is a method to my madness!) This textile was woven and embroidered. It was once used to upholster the back of a chair! What I wouldn't do to see it then! ~ The fiber content is both cotton and silk. Fine materials were used no doubt by a very wealthy family. It would look amazing framed~ either as a collection with the others or alone. I'm so happy this piece survived and is still telling its story! ~ MEASUREMENTS : This textile measures approximately 18 inches wide by 14 inches deep CONDITION : This lovely piece has signs of time and use. There are some splits on the canvas, for example the lion's tail and lower body. It's wonderfully faded, there is thread loss, you name it , it's there! It's important to use the zoom feature on the photographs so you can see the exact condition ~*~ Signs of time and use inherent with 350 year old textiles ~*~ Inventory : EFF 167
