Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens - Black - Parts only - AS IS

Description: Up for auction is this Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM lens. The lens is for parts only AS-IS. It was working great but one day the focus ring became detached. I found online youtube video showing how to repair by taking apart and finding the screw that I could hear rattling around and reattach the unit. The repair was going well and I put it all back together and realized the auto focus ribbon became severed. Otherwise the unit powers on and takes photos but no focusing. I'm not experienced enough to know how to get a new ribbon and solder/attach it. So I'm selling it as parts for those experienced and capable of such repairs. The glass element is in good condition no scratches that I can tell but it does have a speckle of dust that appeared after reassembling, can be cleaned up when opening it back up.
