During the Cultural Revolution China positioned itself as the leader of the 3rd world countries and viewed America imperialism as a threat to developing nations. This poster portrays the PLA soldier leading the people of Africa, Latin America and Asia. Approximate size: 31" x 21". My first trip to China was in 1982 and I eventually found a small shop in Curio City, DongsanHuan South Road, Beijing that specialized in original Cultural Revolution memorabilia. This poster is from that store and is an original 1968 Cultural Revolution and for its age is in great condition. There are no tears or pin-holes, there is some yellowing from age. It has been in a removable plastic sleeve and has been stored in a plastic tube. I stopped buying Chinese Cultural Revolution posters in China a due to the difficulty of finding original posters.
