With a massive seating capacity that could accommodate over 78,000 for football and approximately 74,000 for baseball, it was one of the largest stadiums of its kind during its time.Cleveland Municipal Stadium was home to several major sports teams over the years. It served as the primary venue for the Cleveland Indians, the city's Major League Baseball team, from its opening in 1932 until 1993, before the team moved to Progressive Field (then known as Jacobs Field). It was the site of several notable baseball events, including the 1935 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and the 1948 World Series, where the Indians clinched their second championship.The stadium was also the home of the Cleveland Browns, the city's National Football League (NFL) team, from 1946 until its closure in 1995.
