These grips are Hogue’s Monogrip single piece set, they come with the replacement mounting system which incorporates the alignment pin into the fastening screw system, you do not need to purchase an alignment pin if replacing rubber grips. Will not work on long "D" or first model "D" frame's from the ' 50's Hogue grips for the Diamondback are the one-piece Monogrip design. They are ambidextrous allowing both right and left handed use. Installation is simple requiring the grip pin be removed and the stirrup to be snapped in place. The grip then slides up from the butt, with one screw securing the grip through the butt. All necessary hardware is provided. The stirrup pin goes through the center of the frame, not the pin hole. The Colt Detective Special and Diamondback are both D-Frames and can use the same grip. Detective special guns are generally small concealable handguns so we make small grips for them. The Diamondback is generally a larger target type handgun so we make the grips for them larger and more hand filling.Our grips fit guns made after 1966 as listed below. Later frames such as the Magnum Carry model are known as SFVI frames and are slightly thicker at the top. Because of this wood grips are available for both the standard D frame and for the SFVI and must be ordered accordingly.
