The MSI Z87-G41 is a decent 4th gen Intel motherboard that features an exceptional UEFI bios for easy overclocking and tweaking of many hardware and software settings. It includes plenty of I/O ports on the rear along with plenty of internal headers that allow for exceptional amounts of connectivity especially with older hardware from the late 90s and early 2000s with PCI expansions slots, or if more modern hardware is your go to, the mother board includes 2 full size PCIe x16 slots (The upper slot runs at Gen 3 x16 and the lower at Gen 2 x4) that allow for multiple GPUs or various add in cards with the additional 2 PCIe x1 slots. The included Intel I5-4690K is a good workhorse of the Haswell Refresh line of Intel 4th Gen Core I series processors, and comes with a good base clock of 3.5GHz and 4 cores, it can certainly hold up to modern games when paired with a solid graphics card and plenty of memory, in which this bundle/combo also includes 32GB of DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz, which complements the CPU quite nicely when overclocking. With a motherboard like this, SATA cables are a must to hook up any SATA based drives to the motherboard as NVME/M.2 was not standard when this motherboard was produced, which two SATA cables are included to ensure you can connect your SATA drives to the motherboard without much fuss. NOTES: I/O Shield included! The hardware is used and works perfectly when I upgraded my desktop to newer parts. The upper USB 2.0/Black ports on the motherboard by the PS/2/Green+Purple connectors are damaged and do not function, however it does not impede the functionality of the motherboard and all the other USB Ports and internal headers work properly. CMOS battery may need to be replaced with a new 2032 size Lithium coin cell/battery.
