Description: Cooke PORTRAIT Anastigmat 18" (457 mm) f/5.6 SOFT FOCUS "KNUCKLES" large format lens. Serial # 192648. Made by Taylor & Hobson in England. Series-VI. VERY rare lens to find. Covers more then 14x17", and would be nice PORTRAIT lens for 8x10" and 11x14" view & studio cameras. Soft focus of the image can be varied by turning the "Knuckles" on the front lens barrel to change the image sharpness. NON coated glass. Manual aperture from f/5.6 - f/22. Front filter diameter is about 130mm. Rear lens filter diameter is about 115mm. NO retaining ring. Requires 6x6" or larger lens board. Lens is approx. 6.5" long. Weight is approx. 9 lb. Lens is in Ex++ or 9 out of 10 cosmetic condition. No dings or dents. Good working order. Just CLA'd in October 2022. Overall fairly clean vintage condition for this rare Cooke "Knuckles" soft focus portrait lens. Nice clear optics that have been cleaned. Smooth working lens aperture. NO flange but leather lens cap.
