Description: Up for offer is a very good modernist/naive oil painting of two figures, each holding something. Heavy impasto throughout. Framed with thin strips of molding typical of mid-century paintings. Painted on coarse linen, not canvas. I could find no signature. The piece is marked "Czechoslovakia" on the reverse. Out of the estate of a local collector with many pieces of European art, so the notation could mean it was by a Czech artist, or that's where he obtained it. In any event, it's good work. Condition is quite good. No tears or rips. The oils remain bright, brighter than my photos show. Size is about 23 1/2 by 14 1/2 inches. Please ask any questions you may have; I'd be happy to answer.
