Description: Diary Journal from Pond Family Ionia County Michigan 1881-1887 Click images to enlarge Description Scope & Content: Hand-written journal from the Pond family beginning in 1881 and ending in 1888 of Ionia County,Michigan. This particular journal comprises the daily life,tolls and turmoil of the Pond family living on their farm. There are a good number of names mentioned throughout the journal in addition to trips to and from Ashely to Greenville,MI. There are church dedications & socials,babies being born and lots of corn husking and apple picking along the way. I am not completely certain what family member wrote this journal?... but there is a good possibility it was Ada Pond or Wheeler Pond, or another direct Pond family member? I state this opinion as the other 19th century journal I had sold just recently, was believed to have been written by her and came from the Pond family archive. Good content throughtout with a virtual "Who's Who" of that region in Michigan.
