Description: Awaiting your purchase is this early coin silver teaspoon crafted by Elias Davis of Newburyport, MA in a wonderful Colonial Pre revolutionary Hanoverian shellback pattern. This special item remains in Good condition, (see condition report above), and bears monogram to back B 1757. Appraiser Notes: This spoon could be a bit earlier. Certainly its style hails from 1750, but the silversmith was born in 46, and it could have been while he apprenticed, but typically this would not have been until age 11 so 1757 at the earliest. Was this his first spoon made? Of course the monogram is from 1757 but often people used that to commemorate something from the past. Intriguing!
