Description: This is a set of connector housings, seals, and crimp connectors for certain Nissan electric power steering pumps used in various 2014 - 2018 vehicles. These connectors are sourced from the factory suppliers. All our products are assembled by hand in the United States. The main power connector comes with two seals and three terminals. The 6-position data connector comes with two 2.8 mm terminals (used in position 3), three 1.5 mm terminals (used in positions 5 and 6) as shown in the pictures. The three required cavity seals for the unused 2.8 mm and 1.5 mm positions are already installed (see picture for details). For reference, the connector uses larger terminals on the center 2 positions but the factory wires are all the same size. I replicate that in my kit. Cavity seals prevent water from infiltrating the mat seal. The main power terminals are designed for 7 mm2 to 10 mm2 wire roughly equivalent to 8 AWG to 6 AWG. The seals are designed for wire with an outer diameter of 5 mm – 6.5 mm. The factory AV10 wire fits perfectly. You can also use 6 AWG SGX wire though it is a tight fit so you have to be careful when inserting the wire into the housing. The 1.5 mm data connector terminals (used in positions 5 and 6) are designed for 0.35 mm2 to 0.75 mm2 wire (roughly 20 - 18 AWG wire). The seals are designed for wire with an outer diameter of 1.20 mm to 1.90 mm (0.05" - 0.07"). The 2.8 mm data connector terminals (used in position 3) are designed for 0.75 mm2 to 1.35 mm2 wire (roughly 18 - 17 AWG wire). The seals are designed for wire with an outer diameter of 1.60 mm to 2.40 mm (0.06" - 0.09"). I have verified that a decent hand crimper with proper dies can achieve minimum USCAR tensile strength with these connectors and 18 AWG wire. Please check out the picture of the connectors on the pump to make sure these will fit. With these connectors you can build your own wiring loom to fit your car with no splices. You can also use these to install the electric power steering pump in any vehicle. Please note that this pump will not run without being connected to the CANbus. Please see our other listing for a steering controller that will activate and control this pump. The assembled connectors and pump in some of the pictures are not included and are for illustrative purposes only. If you are looking for a high quality, reasonably priced crimp tool for the large terminals, I can recommend the Iwiss 5100A. It can be found online for around $50-$60 shipped and makes excellent crimps.
