Description: Overview: Up for sale is an incredible western impressionist oil painting. It depicts a cowboy sitting next to his tethered horse in the desert with a large mesa rising in the background. It is signed Fred Gates and dated 1980 at lower right. The painting shows fantastic detail. I love the detail in the clouds and the sheer scale of the landscape compared to the man and his horse. It is framed in a lovely wood frame with linen matting. Condition: Painting and frame are in excellent condition. Measurements: Painting measures 24 inches wide x 18 inches high. Frame measures approximately 29.5 inches wide x 23.5 inches high.
