Description: *Gitzp 326 Studex Compact Luxe Performance Tripod* *Gitzo R. No. 4B Pan/Tilt Head* (Needs Camera Mount Screw - Or Quick Release Added) DESCRIPTION: This is the heavy duty Gitzo 326 Studex Compact Luxe Performance Tripod outfit made for medium and large format photography. It is the “Luxe” model because it has four leg sections instead of the three sections on the plain Studex Compact Performance or Studex Performance models. Legendary super high quality – made in France. Outfit includes the tripod, regular center column, and the Gitzo 472 Rational No.4B Pan-Tilt Head. The tripod is missing one of the rubber grip rings that you grab when tightening the legs section (not essential) – still works great (has tape). Also, it needs a camera screw mount for head platform. Otherwise complete and fully working with all leg sections, head handles and knobs. NOTE: I considered just adding a nice quick release accessory rather than worry about finding a genuine Gitzo camera mount screw – but, this tripod is way too heavy duty for my purposes. I have used Gitzo for years – I have several, but my preference is the 026 Compact Weekend Performance because I only shoot 35mm. I prefer a Gitzo because I use mine for close-up photography in the field, including wetlands (swamps and bogs). This tripod is made for medium to large format cameras. ATTRIBUTES: This model Gitzo is compact in length, has the upgraded 4 section leg syetem, and the legs splay out to help you get closed to the ground. If you get a short column (I use one regularly), this will go almost to ground level. Heavy duty construction is the key to a Gitzo. When the legs are fully extended and angled in the lock position, the top of the tripod head is approximately 62 inches – you can get to approximately 72 inches by extending the center column.
