Description: I know, is lots of reading. Lots of info to help you decide. RARER & NICER THEN MOST SIDE-HANDLED STYLE FOUND ONLINE. That's my opinion based on what I could find in my research. Original Design SAVORY Roaster CHOCOLATE COLOR. Circa 1909. I'm including some paperwork I found online regarding this specific model. Specific difference to most I found is the color and handle placement are correct to the 1909 Patent design and the associated examples. This is before top handle and diverse colors were later added. I was un-able to find one better cared for and preserved online for one this old and of original manufacturer design. One small enamel ding shown in picture near the penny, about a 1/4" diameter. One nearly unseen ding on lid, shown in picture. There are also two intensional "dimples" from original manufacturing forming in location where a top handle would eventually be included. There is a circular area interior the lid that the original enamel covers, but no indications on the top exterior side. I suspect this was a handling smudge in the wet enamel while being manufactured. There is no scorching or fire burns under the roaster. The lid sits flush. See light colored pictures of the original condition with decades of cooking stains. I DID clean it. How you might ask?? Magical. A sprayed it heavily with straight ammonia, tied into a kitchen trash bag overnight, then the baked on grime washes right off without crazy scrubbing, all of it! The ammonia helps to release the bond from the enamel. Garden hose did most of the work. Layers of past meals wiped away unceremoniously. So pleased with the results. There was no additional polishing or buffing. What you see is original finish, just cleaned. I don't know the chemistry if you did this on a beat-up pan where lots of rust, injury, or chipping has occurred. My results were perfection. INCLUDED WITH THIS LISTING: What I believe is a hand crafted folk art miniature of a common roaster. I do not think it is a toy...too delicate for rough kids. No signs of manufacturer, but plenty of hints of a talented metal worker goofing off to make a family member a nice gift? Yes, that's possible. In fact, that's how the original SAVORYs were made: a craftsman hammering out a roaster from sheet metal. Hand painted and dated 1958. Aluminum. Lid fits snuggly in one orientation. Smoke/Pet free home. I only ship to Continental USA Addresses via USPS, or maybe UPS in a bind. Sorry for the USPS and other's bloated rates nowadays. Not my fault!!! Shippers calculate rate from my East Coast home address to yours. Please inspect pictures and ask questions if needed or for additional pictures. I don't do returns or refunds because I'm trying to adhere to my wife's wishes to Downsize as we get older, not to bring things back here, so please ask before committing. My adult kids certainly won't see or appreciate quality relics when I die. Please consider looking at my other listings for more things. I have much more to list as I get to them. I can combine for your savings when combining makes sense and hopefully doesn't affect rates too much. We can work with each other on that. Your additional savings comes from bundling. Thank you for your time reading all this stuff.
