About the Author: "Olive Beaupré Miller (née Olive Kennon Beaupré) (1883-1968) was an American writer, publisher and editor of children's literature. She was born in Aurora, Illinois. She received her B.A. from Smith College in 1904. In 1919 Miller established a company, The Book House for Children, to publish popular children’s literature edited by herself to meet her standards... The company was also remarkable for its large female staff at a time when most women did not work outside the home. Illustrators for the series included Maude and Miska Petersham, Donn Philip Crane, Hilda Hanway, Milo Winter, and Peter Newell." (from Wikipedia) About the Illustrators: "Maud Fuller Petersham (1890-1971) and Miska Petersham (1888-1960) were American writers and illustrators who helped set the direction for illustrated children's books that followed. They worked as a seamless partnership for more than five decades. Both prolific and versatile, they produced illustrations for more than 120 trade and textbooks, anthologies, and picture books. Of the 50 books they both wrote and illustrated, many were recognized with important awards or critical acclaim. They are known for technical excellence, exuberant color, and the introduction of international folk and modernist themes." (from Wikipedia)We will ship USPS Media Mail.
