Description: MEASURES:Diameter: 14.84 inch. ; Height: 2,17 inch. ; Weight: 2.76 lbsCONDITIONS:Excellent general conditions. Item Description:Beautiful, large enamelled ceramic plate, depicting the portrait of Scipio Africanus, famous leader of the army of the Roman Empire, and with parchment with writing in which only the first part of the name of the subject depicted can be glimpsed "SCIP ". On the brim, however, there are the classic decorations of Gualdo Tadino made with alternating bands of the scale decoration, very similar to the decorations of the Ginori manufacture, and with Raphaelesque decorations. Plate finished with Sienese golden metallic luster, unsigned, made in Gualdo Tadino, datable between the end of the 1700s and the very first decades of the 19th century.Useful information for evaluating the object: The plate is not signed, as is only the case with older ceramic plates. To give an idea of the value of our plate, in the photos immediately below this description, we have placed two very similar plates, one auctioned in Cambi, priced at €1,100-1,300, more recent than ours, dating back to the second half of the 19th century, signed by the Rubboli manufacture. Another, made in Deruta, but very similar in the type of decoration, offered on 1stdibs for over €1,200. Our dish is undoubtedly older, and in our opinion even more beautiful, than the two plates given as an example, therefore in our opinion, it has a higher value. At the same time, eBay reciprocates with the possibility of selling a high quantity of objects, so our commercial policy is to earn little for the single object, but sell a lot and therefore earn on the quantity. In fact, the asking price is always as low as possible, considering how much the item was paid for and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21% , according to the country in which the advertisement was made). For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it.
