(Though written in 1906, the play was banned by the Lord Chamberlain and not performed until 1936 at London's Westminster Theatre.) ..... Waste centers on radical independent politician "Henry Trebell", who is persuaded to join the Conservative Party in order to champion his bill to finance a vast education program. But a liaison with a married woman, who dies after aborting their child, brings private scandal into the political arena. The play starred NICHOLAS HANNEN as "Henry Trebell" and the cast included STEPHEN MURRAY, NINA BOUCICAULT (who originated the role of "Peter Pan" in the James Barrie classic in 1904), MARY HINTON, GILLIAN SCAIFE, MARY McCOWAN, CATHERINE LACEY, A.
