Description: Antique cake plate or serving plate from Theodore Haviland Limoges made in France. This pattern has the Schleiger number 147A and it features a scalloped rim, painted pale purple poppies with gold embellishments. The plate bears the "N" decorator mark introduced in 1895. Condition notes: The plate is in good vintage condition with an original manufacturing flaw. There is a firing crack at the edge of the plate which does not go all the way through to the reverse side. The crack appears to be about 1" long and much of it is under the glaze. The portion more towards the edge is visible and a small portion under a ridge in the plate design. Apart from the firing crack there is a small amount of utensil wear commensurate with age and a small amount of wear to the gold detailing. the pattern itself is in good shape. There is one small spot of staining or errant paint towards the center of the plate, it is about 1/2 mm in diameter.
