Description: Haworthia parksiana This remarkable species is endemic to a small region in the Western Cape of South Africa, not far from the coastline, where it hides away under leaf litter, sand and soil, and is protected from larger plants above. It’s thought to be the smallest species of Haworthia and is very rare in nature. This miniature Haworthia is not common in cultivation either, but is relatively easy to care for. Over time this plant forms small clumps, with individual rosettes made of small triangular leaves, recurved and rough in texture. The color can be dark green to nearly black. You'll receive the 0.75" plant in the photos, bare-root, without soil or pot. For best growthSoil/Medium: coarse, well draining, cactus/succulent soil; best in a sharper mix that includes extra lava and/or pumice)Light: a few hours of morning sun with afternoon shade, or bright indirect all dayWater: deeply every 2-3 weeks, let the soil dry between waterings This Haworthia grows best when protected from intense sunlight, which makes it a great houseplant. A few hours of direct sun in the early morning is ok, and bright indirect sunlight all day or a greenhouse with shade cloth are great. These miniature succulents are often found growing under larger plants in habitat, or covered by sand and soil, so they naturally receive some protection from sun. In nature they receive rainfall throughout the year, so they don’t need an extended dry period, but it is best to let them dry between waterings, especially because they are grown in lower light and have the potential to stay wet longer. They are hardy outside in mild climates, just ensure the planting medium is chunky and coarse. *Shipped USPS Ground Advantage, on Mondays, excluding holidays. *Usually arrives in 3-5 business days from shipment date, depending on destination. *Combined shipping is available, contact me with your request before purchasing. *No phytosanitary certificates or other documentation will be provided.
